Search by names or fragments
Put full names or parts of names in a CSV. The app looks for those strings in file names.
Prepare a CSV list and let The Truffle Pig sniff through your file names, like a truffle pig in the woods. It gathers every match and copies them to the folder you choose.
14-day full trial.
Then a free version with up to 30 files per search. For Windows.
When you have lots of files to track down, doing it one by one is a waste of time. Give it a list of clues and let it do the work.
Put full names or parts of names in a CSV. The app looks for those strings in file names.
It finds matching files across the folder tree you point to and copies them to the destination you choose.
With the full license, you can set the new name for each copied file right in the CSV.
You have a list of invoices, contracts or case files spread across many folders. Prepare the CSV and gather the matches in one place.
Start from a list of files you need to collect. Copy them into a delivery folder and, with the full license, give them new names from the CSV.
Originals stay where they were. The Pig only makes copies in the destination folder.
When it finishes, it tells you what it found, what it copied and which names on your list turned up nowhere.
It walks the whole folder structure you point to, however deeply nested.
A CSV with 50 names or 5,000: the search works the same, only the time changes.
One column with the names to look for. No formulas, no macros, no special template. If your list is in Excel, save it as CSV.
Pay once and the license is yours, permanently. No monthly fees, no renewals.
One row for each name or fragment you want to find.
Pick the source folder and the destination where you want the files gathered.
The Truffle Pig finds the matches and copies the files it found.

It doesn’t read the contents of your documents, guess which files you need or tidy your folders by magic. It looks for names and fragments in the locations you give it and copies the matches.
It doesn’t rename anything on its own either: with the full license, you can tell it in the CSV what the copies should be called.
The Truffle Pig compares the text in your CSV with file names. It doesn’t open documents or look for words inside them.
Searches accept fragments: if you look for invoice_24, it can also find invoice_240.pdf. That way you can locate matches even without the full name.
The Truffle Pig is available for Windows only, and will stay that way for a while.
